The catalogue

Learning resources

Every package is a complete teaching sequence: interactive modules, worked solutions with examiner notes, auto-marked practice, exam-style questions and a tutor answer sheet. All content is written and reviewed by subject matter experts working in the sector.

Getting started

From order to first lesson in a day

STEP 01

Pick your packages

Filter by qualification, check the module list and sample the interactive before you commit.

STEP 02

Take the centre licence

One flat fee covers the whole site. Or set a cohort size if you would rather pilot it per learner first.

STEP 03

Download or deploy

Take the offline HTML files or drop the SCORM package straight into your LMS.

STEP 04

Teach and track

Learners work through scored modules. You get answer sheets and an export for IQA.

Licensing

License it once, use it across the provision

The centre licence is a flat annual fee for one site, with no learner cap and nothing to count. Per-learner pricing exists for pilots and single cohorts, and any per-learner order can be moved onto a centre licence later.

What comes with the modules

The planning and marking documents that sit behind the catalogue, and the five animated explainers that open each topic on the shop floor.

Open to all

Curriculum map

Every module set against the six DfE GCSE Mathematics domains, showing what is covered, what is planned and where the gaps still are. Use it to plan a scheme of work or to justify coverage at inspection.

Answer sheet

Full worked answers and mark schemes for all five modules, including method marks and acceptable tolerances on every practice and exam-style question.

Video explainers

Five animated videos, straight into the lesson

Each one takes a topic off the whiteboard and onto the shop floor at Ashfield Engineering, and ends on an unanswered question so it can be stopped there as a starter or a plenary. Every video page carries its own question set with model answers and marking notes. Included with any centre licence.

A welded steel angle bracket with two bolt holes, the fillet weld running along the inside corner Video 01 2:45

Two Checks

What a 98% pass rate really costs

A bracket passes a dimensional check and a weld check. The tree is built branch by branch, the four routes are multiplied out, and the answer lands as 69 rejects per 1,000 a week, a scrap figure a production manager would recognise.

Tool Life

Fast cutting eats tools

Ten carbide tools are logged for cutting speed against tool life. The cloud of points is plotted, the line of best fit is drawn and measured, and its gradient turns into a sentence a setter can act on: every extra metre per minute costs about half a minute of tool life.

A vernier caliper closed around a machined steel shaft, the 0.02 mm scale in focus Video 03 2:42

True Size

What 24.6 mm really means

An inspector writes 24.6 mm and 24.8 mm. The video shows why those are bands rather than sizes, then combines them the awkward way round to get the greatest and least possible clearance, and checks both against the drawing tolerance.

A large fabricated steel hopper cone on a workshop floor, welding plant and benches behind it Video 04 2:46

Scaling Up

Four times longer, how much heavier

A quarter-scale hopper model is scaled up. Lengths go ×4, the plate order goes ×16, and the mass goes ×64, which puts the finished hopper 76 kg over the crane rating. The consequence is what makes k³ stick.

Sixty Welds

Sixty welds, no stopwatch times

Sixty welds survive only as a grouped tally. The video builds the midpoint and f × x columns on screen, then makes the point that Σfx is not just a stepping stone. At 1,480 minutes it is the week’s labour budget.
